  10. Interpretive Comments via Joe Mansell: When the 398th ended its missions in April 1945, this aircraft was the only one left in Squadron 602 of the original 68 airplanes that were flown over with the 398th Bomb Group in May 1944. I flew 2 combat missions in this airplane:

    - August 5, 1944 Dollberg, Germany
    - August 9, 1944 Saarbruken, Germany

  11. Additional Comments:
    1. Note that bomb bay doors are open, thus photo is likely during a combat mission.
    2. A/C K8-B is the deputy lead of the visible element. This may help date this photo someday.
