Notes:

  1. Lt. Carl W. Krecklow, Navigator flew 16 missions with the 398th and finished his last three missions as Group Lead. Then in June 1944 he was transferred to the 305th Bomb Group, 40th Air Division based at Chelsworth where flew eleven missions. He started as Element Lead Navigator, progressed to Deputy Wing Lead, two missions, Group Lead, three missions, Wing Lead, three missions, finally Division lead on his last mission. Captain Wagner, 603rd Commanding Officer at the time highly recommended him as a Lead Navigator. He received the DFC & Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Medal & three Oak Leaf Clusters, Group Citation.
