  9. Interpretive Comments: Above are a series of photographs of the B-17 aircraft flown back to the 398th's Nuthampstead base after a mission to Cologne on 15 Oct 1944. All survived except S/Sgt. George E. Abbott, the togglier, who was killed instantly.
