A major undertaking is underway to transcribe Formation Charts, Mission Narratives, Flight Logs, and Interrogation Reports to our 398th web site. Data is being transcribed from the official 398th Maxwell Records by volunteers. Additional Volunteers are needed to transcribe various mission reports to add to the growing collection of information about 398th Missions. The "Official WWII 8th AAF 398th Bomb Group Historical Data" are part of the 8th AAF Maxwell AFB Records and are available on Microfilm and CD. These are referred commonly referred to as the Maxwell Records.

Below is the current status of our tracking chart which shows which charts have been transcribed and are on our 398th site. If a chart or report has been transcribed and is available on our site, the surname of the volunteer who transcribed the data is shown below. Blank entries still need transcribing. Entries such as 478a, 42 indicate the file name and pdf page number where the entry is located in the records. These charts have not been transcribed yet.
