Operational Details:

  • Take off commenced at 0715 hrs. 37 a/c of Group including 3 PFF formed 1st "A" Combat Bombardment Wing (CBW). 1 a/c returned early. Group formed at 0839 hrs at Debden.
  • Route Out: Base --> Lelsey Bill (0917 hrs.) --> Le Havre --> Ludwigshaven (synthetic oil)
  • Bombs away at 11:40 hrs. at 26000 feet. Temperature -37° C. No contrails.
  • Return Route: retraced route out, enemy coast out 1402 hrs. 4922N 0003E.
  • Bombed by PFF: Result onobserved. Length of bomb run 10 minutes on a magnetic heading: 005°, 1A8, 150 mph.
  • No aircraft lost.
  • No aircraft failed to take-off.
