T/Sgt. Armand Fugge's Diary
Engineer/Top Turret Gunner 600th Squadron

Fugge Mission No.
18

23 June 1944
Target:
Rocket Bomb Emplacements, Fiefs, France

June 23, 1944
Got up at 0700, briefed at 0830 and our target was rocket bomb emplacements southwest of Lille, France. Carried 18 – 250 lb. G.P. bombs and our run was at 20,000 ft. Flak was light. Bombed P.F.F. through 10/10 undercast. We lost 42 planes on our last raid to Berlin. I had to go to group headquarters to see about some damn award for what I did on our first Hamburg mission. I don’t want any awards, all I want is to go home.

MISSION # 18 COMPLETED SAFELY, Thank God.
